How to interview family and friends about games
Our parents, grandparents and other family friends can tell us lots about games
that were played some years ago. Spend some time talking with your family and
friends to find out how games have changed and try out some of their games.
Questions to ask
Here are some ideas of questions to get you started:
-
What games did you play in the playground when you were at school?
-
What games did you play on the street?
-
What kind of equipment (marbles, skipping ropes) did you use?
-
If you didn't have the proper things (marbles, balls) did you make your own
Can you remember any of the rhymes or songs that go with your games?
How did you choose who was going to be 'On' or 'It'?
When you have found out about these games, use Build a game to
send your ideas to us at Playground fun so we can share them with children
around the world.
